[ he's thought about how to go about this, but in the end derek decides the only way to deal with his very human future beta is by talking to her as much as he hates that. still, isaac cares about her and the kid's right, she is pack despite the obvious lacking qualities. ]
So I did my research and I found out that you're the only Erica in the city. Sam really made a mistake in giving me your name without expecting that this would eventually happen.
[Also, she has it on video so she can see if Erica's hot or ... not hot. It's her duty.
She smiles.]
I'm sure he's mentioned me, because why wouldn't he? I'm Santana, and I'm here to see if you're really worthy of dating someone who's a current member of New Directions. Of course, the current New Directions is a little ... lacking, but hey, they still carry the name, so that's enough.
[In honor of the Earth holiday centering on love, Freya sends out a little gift around this time.
A small box containing a piece of chocolate will appear on your pillow during the day. When consumed, the chocolate’s magic will lift your mood for a short period of time. It’s accompanied by a note.]
Where love might bring about sorrow, it also welcomes joy.
[ In honour of the god centering on love being a giant frilly prissypants, Loki sends his own little gift just a few hours after hers.
His box of chocolate will look, smell, and taste exactly like Freya's did, appearing right next to where Freya's was or is if you haven't picked it up yet. The only difference between the two is that Loki's won't lift your mood; it'll give you loud and embarrassing flatulence for the next three hours.
It's also accompanied by a note. ]
Where joy might bring about yearning, it also welcomes wonder.
Derek's uncle just showed up. His name's Peter. I know you've never met him but if or when you do meet him, don't trust him. Even Derek doesn't have a good word to say about him.
[this is hard. this is actually really, really hard. derek's not sure how much erica's heard about his arrival - he doesn't remember being here, after all, but isaac told him he wasn't fair on her the last time he was in asgard. he feels guilty about it. about a lot of things, if he's honest. his guilt causes him to overthink his greeting for a solid fifteen minutes before he figures out the best icebreaker to go with.]
[Since first hearing about the trip, Isaac is pretty sure that he knows what needs to be done. It's complicated, because Allison is gray and he doesn't know if he wants to further upset Scott by telling him, and his relationship with Derek is still rocky at this point- but he can tell Erica. They've always been able to tell one another everything.
Which is why he knocks on her bedroom door later on in the evening, when he's sure that Sam isn't over.]
[She spends her first day here mostly sleeping. The second still feeling kind of crappy but conscious enough to turn over all the new information she's just been hit with in her head and try to figure out how to deal with it. The thing about this particular information, however, is that she has a distinct lack of it.
She doesn't know what Erica knows. She doesn't know what Erica remembers. And she should probably stay away because no one likes being reminded of the people who watched you die (or so she assumes) and no one likes being ambushed by someone from their future either. Asking questions about how exactly Cora knows her will only lead to painful questions that Cora isn't sure she wants to answer.
But she's not as good at manipulation as Peter or avoidance as Derek and sitting on her hands only results in more anxiety that is so much worse than the not knowing. So on the third day, she deals with it the only way she knows how.
She goes at it head on, with all the tact one would expect from a member of her family, but at least the question is out in the open all the same.]
