[He's arching an eyebrow as if this is the only possible explanation there could be to Sam's, you know, Saminess, but damn, he's really being mean to that poor kid. Blondie makes Erica happy, he reminds himself as he sheepishly sips his water. Derek needs to stop being weirdly protective over a girl who doesn't even like him.]

She played the cello, by the way. [Talking about Paige is kind of hard, though, and he wishes he hadn't brought her up in an attempt to connect with Erica.] Other things, too. But she was playing cello when I met her.
