[She spends her first day here mostly sleeping. The second still feeling kind of crappy but conscious enough to turn over all the new information she's just been hit with in her head and try to figure out how to deal with it. The thing about this particular information, however, is that she has a distinct lack of it.

She doesn't know what Erica knows. She doesn't know what Erica remembers. And she should probably stay away because no one likes being reminded of the people who watched you die (or so she assumes) and no one likes being ambushed by someone from their future either. Asking questions about how exactly Cora knows her will only lead to painful questions that Cora isn't sure she wants to answer.

But she's not as good at manipulation as Peter or avoidance as Derek and sitting on her hands only results in more anxiety that is so much worse than the not knowing. So on the third day, she deals with it the only way she knows how.

She goes at it head on, with all the tact one would expect from a member of her family, but at least the question is out in the open all the same.]

[She's at home when the message comes. Sleeping on the couch after having been up most of the night running "errands" to try and find a few select items that haven't been surfacing too easily. Mostly, she just wants to sleep all day, but she knows eventually she'll have to get up and go to work. The message on her bracelet comes from a new name, but even through a blurred moment of not awake, she recognizes the name.

There's a moment where she wants to get mad at Derek for not telling her, but she realizes quickly that maybe he doesn't know either... or didn't want to tell her.]

I spent a few months with you and I still don't think I'm qualified to answer that, Cora.

[Derek didn't say, she didn't push. Still, the response gets a small flicker of a smile out of her. At least she isn't dealing with someone who hasn't met her yet. It doesn't make things better, but in some ways it's almost easier.]

More qualified than most.

[Even Derek to a certain extent. She isn't the kid he used to know, not anymore.]

[Erica laughs, shifting so that she's not half falling off the couch as she goes to reply.]

Couple days ago. Probably would have done this sooner but I had a rough arrival.

[which was honestly the most polite way to say that she did not take it well. She still isn't entirely sure what that was but at least she knows that she's not the only one at this point.]

It's fine, the place is big and it's a lot to get used to. I came back from a trip back home recently and it took me a while to settle again. Have you been told who is here?

Scott made it seem like there were more of us though.

I live with Isaac. We have a three bedroom place. Stiles is next door. His dad was here for a while, but he disappeared recently - which happens. Lydia is here too, somewhere, but I haven't really run into her. Allison is here too.

[She's not sure she should explain anything about the whole Isaac/Allison/Scott thing...]

[Isaac, Stiles, okay. Lydia was interesting, but that also depends on if she knows who Cora is, which might be easier to avoid for now. The last one ...

... well. What do you say about Argents? Especially considering she's not aware of her brother's broship with her dad later on.]

It's what I do.

[She's sure somehow she should try to get along with her since Isaac is sort of dating her, but there's something about being shot at, kidnapped, and tortured that doesn't really exude best friend material.]

[Cora would not even blame her. Thankfully she didn't have to deal with her much in Beacon Hills - hopefully she could just continue the same pattern here.

[Because that matters to her. That if Erica is going to get a second chance, it at least be a good one.]

Yeah. It's good. I mean, I don't know it's complicated, but it's better than there.

Isaac is gone for another few weeks, I think. if you want you could stay here. The welcome halls are kind of dumb. There's an extra room here too. It could be just until you find something else.

Derek's trying to get us out of the welcome halls too.

[There's a beat because it's not a bad offer. But her history with Isaac while not being awful isn't the greatest either.]

Do you think Isaac would be okay with that, even if he's not there?

I think he'd understand once he's back and I explain it all. The room just sits there empty anyway. If you find a job easily, you can even help pay the rent. Then he really won't care.

I've asked around it's either moving things with his mind or reading thoughts from our minds. I'm guessing if he could move things he'd be doing it a lot more. at least guessing from what scott told me about him. he might know your power already if its the mind thing.

[Well, that's ... awesome. :| Another reason not to trust Peter and make it easier for him to manipulate people. Good times.]

I'm not sure if he would be showing off, but someone might have seen it by now if it was the telekinesis.

Well all powers take time to advance, so maybe he'll be slow at that.

[Yeah, she does. What she doesn't know is whether or not Erica knows about Boyd. How she's the last vault member standing.

It's not something she wants to explain, but she may have to.]

The lunar eclipse.

A while ago, here in Asgard there was a tree that was giving people memories from their future. I saw me asking Boyd what an eclipse would do to us, but we didn't get the answer. At least I didn't. I tried to ask Derek, but he didn't answer me.

I know I die. I know a lot of people die. It hasn't happened for me, though. But I know about it. I've known I die for a long time, though. The rest of them only because Derek told me.

[There's a long pause on the other end of the line because Cora isn't really sure how to respond to this. There's part of her that doesn't want to tell her the truth, because she remembers Erica thinking - hoping - that it would make them stronger right before she tried to make a run at Kali and maybe Cora should have stopped her.

Then again, would tearing each other apart during the full moon have been better or worse?

Still, she doesn't want to lie to her. She's here, she's away, she's ... dead. How much more harm can it do?]

The lunar eclipse takes all our abilities. It makes us human.

[And maybe for her, that would make her stronger. Erica knows how to be human - the alphas in the alpha pack might not.]
